RE: Bicycle Theft

I wish somebody WOULD steal our two Wal Mart specials, I really would like an excuse to get those two single speeders from Camping World. I really liked 'em and only $89. apiece. Bob:B

RE: Low voltage at the CG...what do you do?

Put an autoformer in you line and you won't have to worry about low voltage any more. If the voltage goes below what the autoformer can boost, it cuts the power off to protect your equipment. Bob

RE: Bicycle Theft

Camping World has single speed men and women frame bikes for $89.00. Let 'em get a little rusty and nobody will steal 'em. Buy a cable lock and use it and you're good to go. Bob

RE: RV Cleaning & Waxing

I use Maguire's wash, and then when just cleaning front, I use Maguire's Quick Detailer. For serious wwaxing, I use Harley Glaze, best stuff there is IMO. Bob

RE: The rudest thing I've seen....In a while...

Don't feel too bad. I experienced something similar multiple times when I was in California last year. Everytime it was a motorhome owner who would go out of their way to be extremely rude while we were packing up. It was bad enough at one California SP, that I will never return to Burlington SP again. OK, you got something against motor home drivers??:@ Bob

RE: Gas Avilablility in GA

We're leaving tomorrow moring for Helen, Ga from St. Petersburg, FL. but we keep hearing that there are shortages and that gas is rationed. 25 gallons for gas and 50 for pushers. Does anyone have information? Thanks Gary, maybe we will see you up there, we are leaving St Augustine on Thursday morning for Helen. I will top off the tank here at FJ and then we are going to go up US1 and GA 15 toward Athens. Will check and probably fuel again before we get to Athens which will take us into Helen. I am hoping that by traveling the back roads, fuel will be more readily available. Bob

RE: Dying RV carpet

As a once certified carpet cleaning technician. I can tell you that I'm certain that you can do it. However, it depends on the technicians doing the job as to how well it will turn out where the slideout starts to cover the carpet. You may end up with some stray fibers of the old color popping out from underneath it eventually. I do recall seeing a thread on here a while back about replacing the carpet under the slideout and it was mentioned that your best bet is to remove the slideout. Doesn't sound like much fun to me! If you have it dyed back to it's original color, when the stray fibers won't be as noticeable.

RE: Any good ideas for travelling board games?

Not board games but we play UNO, and Yahtzee all the time. If you choose Yahtzee, throw away the shaker cup and make everyone just shake the dice in their hands. Shaker cup = grrrrr Bob

RE: Tiffin FRED

I don't know exactly who I need to apologise to but here it is. Yesterday I posted some mis-information in this thread about Tiffin, I had read on another forum that TETON had gone bankrupt and when I saw this thread, my feeble mind transformed TETON to TIFFIN. I am sorry if anyone was misled by my post, I was concerned for the op. I am glad that someone (mod.) jumped in and removed the post as it was totally incorrect. Once again, to the forum, I apologise. Bob

RE: Banks Ram Air

Thanks Dave, I am most likely gonna go for it, I just wonder if Banks does any installations? Guess I'll call and ask. Thanks again Bob

RE: Banks Ram Air

Hmm, thought I saw a side radiator under the slide out. Must have been a shadow. So I guess, I was wrong about the my comment on perspective. Sorry about that. So, since you have a new V10, then we have to wait for someone with specific experience with that unit. No question Banks makes a high quality product, just a question of cost effectiveness on that newer V10. Darn, back to where we started and BobMary8101, seems like you were more right than I thought. BobMary8101, Which V10 do you have? Dave, I have, I believe a 6.8 1999 V-10. I am definately not tech savvy, I mean I used to change spark plugs and points and set carbs by ear back in the day, but you and some of the others here are way, way above my level of knowledge. I am just, like the op, trying to figure out if I will get $3500. worth of benefit out of the Banks system. I would not install the system without the transcommand so I would probably go to the Banks factory to have the entire system installed. I didn't mean to step on any toes with my post but this is a subject that I am extremely interested in and I was getting cross-eyed trying to follow some of the posts. I have followed with interest your saga on replacing your engine and have wished many times that I had that level of expertise. I am at the point where I believe that I will go have the system installed in the spring so I am trying to gather all the info I can. Regards, Bob

RE: Satellite: How to obtain service for an exisitng hookup?

Aren't all the receivers leased from the company? If so then they still own them and they need to be returned. They can't be bought and sold if still owned by the satelite company. Some of the high line (DVR etc.) receivers are leased but the basic receivers from Dish network are given to subscribers. When we moved into the rv, Dish sent me a replacement receiver since the one I had was a DVR and I did not want that service. They advised me at that time that the new basic receiver was mine to keep. Bob

RE: banking ????? for fulltimers

We stayed with our local bank that we had for years, Prosperity Bank of St Augustine. We use direct deposit and debit card with no problems. Bob

RE: ONAN Generator

Look in the yellow pages for "generators" or look for a Cummins service center. Cummins owns Onan and most Cummins service centers also service Onan generators. Hope this helps, good luck. Bob

RE: Banks Ram Air

Once again, a thread is stolen. The op wanted info on the Banks system, not a tech bulletin about how to home build one. I don't have an answer for the op but I am also interested in the Banks system. I and most others here do not have the expertise to do this ourselves. If you do, I'm happy for you but please post you pride on the tech forum, and leave this thread for those of us less tech savvy folks. JMHO Bob

RE: using water pump & "city water" together

First time responder, new to the site. Can the pressure regulator be at the inlet at motor home instead of at city water source It can be anywhere in the line, however, if it is not on the spiggot, your white hose will not be protected. It can swell, especially if it is direct hot sunlight. Once it stretches out, it loses its wall strength and will eventually split. Bob
